This policy explains what information Octarak handles when you use octarak.com. Octarak is operated by Octarak LLC, 1500 N Grant St Ste R, Denver, CO 80203.
Information we handle
- Your vehicle selection. The make, model, year, body and trim you pick are saved in your browser (local storage) so we can show what fits. The saved copy stays on your device. When you submit the picker, we also count the choice anonymously (see Analytics below).
- Link clicks. When you click a link to a store, we record the time, the retailer, the product, and the page the click came from, plus whether the request looks like an automated bot. We do not store your IP address, cookies, or the details your browser sends about itself. We don't need your name or email for this.
- Messages. If you email us, we get your email address and what you write, and we use it to reply.
- Analytics. We run our own simple, privacy-friendly analytics, with no third-party analytics service. For each page view we record the time, the page address, the website you came from (the site name only, not the full link), any campaign tags in the link, and a coarse device type (mobile, desktop, or bot). When you leave a page, we also record how many seconds it was open and visible on your screen. We also record the approximate country and state of each visit, worked out from your network connection, without storing your IP address. When you submit the vehicle picker, we record the vehicle you chose (for example, a 2023 Bronco 4-door Badlands) so we know which vehicles visitors have, without linking it to you. We do not use cookies or local identifiers for analytics, we do not store IP addresses or the full details your browser sends about itself, we do not try to identify your device, and we do not build profiles or track you across sites or visits. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by not sending analytics. Our hosting company may keep short-term records (which can include IP addresses) to run and protect the site; we do not copy those into our analytics.
Cookies
Octarak itself doesn't set advertising cookies, and our own analytics works without cookies. When you click through to a retailer, the retailer and its affiliate network may set cookies so they can credit us for a sale. Those cookies are governed by their policies, not ours. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; that won't stop you using Octarak.
How we use information
To run and improve the site, to count clicks, to reply to you, and to meet legal obligations. We don't sell your personal information.
Sharing
We share information with service providers that run the site (hosting, analytics, email), with affiliate networks and retailers as needed to track clicks and pay commissions, and when the law requires.
Your choices
You can clear your saved vehicle from your browser, block cookies, and email us to ask what we hold about you or to ask us to delete it.
Children
Octarak isn't aimed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We'll update this page when things change and change the date above.
