Who this is for

Owners who want better shocks than stock, maybe with a small front level, and want the right part numbers for their truck.

What a 5100 is

The 5100 is Bilstein's monotube gas shock for trucks and Jeeps. It's a step up from factory twin-tube shocks and is one of the most common replacement shocks on half-tons. It's not a long-travel race shock.

Adjustable front = small level

On a lot of newer trucks the front 5100 is a coilover with a spring seat you can set at different heights. You reuse your factory coil spring and pick a notch to raise the front, usually up to about 2 to 2.6 inches. Higher notches stiffen the ride and wear front-end parts faster, so most folks go middle-of-the-road.

Get it aligned after any front height change.

Part numbers by truck

Silverado and Sierra 1500, 2019-2025: front and rear set. Not for Trail Boss or trucks with Active Ride Control.

F-150, 2021-2023: front 24-323758, sold one per side. Not for the Raptor. Rear shocks are a separate order.

Ram 1500, 2019-2024 (new body): front 24-300872, sold singly, and the rear pair 24-233354 for 4WD trucks.

Tacoma, 2024-2025: rear pair for trucks with the coil-spring rear. Leaf-spring Tacomas use a different shock.

Wrangler JK with 1.5-3 in of lift: front and rear set 24-146708 / 24-146715.

F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, 2017+

Leveled 4WD trucks (2-2.5 in up front, 0-1 in rear): 5100 front and rear set 24-274951 / 24-274968.

Stock height, 4WD: the 4600 is the better ride. Front 24-274937 and rear 24-274944, sold one per side.

Stock height, 2WD, 2017-2020: front 24-284707, sold one per side.

The Tremor package has its own shocks, so these don't apply. Octarak doesn't make or sell these shocks; the links go to Amazon. See all F-250 and F-350 parts.

Things that rule a truck out

Factory air suspension, adaptive or magnetic dampers (Active Ride Control, CCD), and off-road trims with their own shocks (Raptor, TRX, Trail Boss, TRD Pro) usually need something else. Read the listing's 'without' notes before you buy. See all parts for the F-150, Ram 1500 and Tacoma.

FAQ

Does Octarak sell Bilstein shocks?

No. We don't make or sell parts. We link to the store.

Will the adjustable front 5100s give me a lift?

A small front level, about 2 to 2.6 inches at most depending on the truck. For more than that you need a lift kit.
